What is a case?

A case points at exactly one finding, opened once triage rules that finding real. It carries what moved, by how much, and since when, in the detector’s own numbers, plus the triage ruling in prose with a confidence and its citations. Some cases are grounded in your repository, with file paths you can open; others rest on trace evidence alone, and the case says which lane produced the ruling, since those are claims of different strength.

A case also holds before-and-after exemplars, real traces from each side of the shift, so you can see what changed instead of taking a number’s word for it. It stays open until someone works it and closes it, or reopens it if the same cause returns. From an open case, Tessary can run root cause analysis: an agentic session over the failing cohort that cites the files involved and can raise a pull request with a fix.
