# Is duration_drift turned on by default?

Yes. duration_drift is on from the moment a project connects its traces, one of three classifiers Tessary calls deterministic and enables by default, alongside cost_drift and tool_error. The rest of Tessary's built-in classifiers, frustration and secret_leak among them, ship off until you turn them on for a project.

That's the whole default configuration on a new project: the three deterministic classifiers, plus alerting and API access. Everything else sits there for you to turn on when you're ready for it, rather than something that starts happening to your traces the moment you connect them.
